About the Winery

Château Lascombes is a 2nd Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) estate in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, classified in the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Official Classification. The estate covers 120 hectares with 84 hectares under vine, planted on Garonne gravel and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is composed of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. After being owned by Alexis Lichine in the 1950s and various investment groups, the château was acquired by the Mutuelle d'Assurance du Corps de Santé Français (MACSF) in 2011. In 2023, new owners took over with Axel Heinz as the winemaking director, implementing significant changes including reducing the Grand Vin production by over 30% and using lighter toast barrels.
