Domaine des Frétillères
About the Winery
Domaine des Frétillères was founded in 1980 by Bernard Rigal, who converted a family polyculture farm into a vineyard. Located in Razac-de-Saussignac, between Bergerac and Bordeaux, the estate benefits from a strategic position in the heart of the Sud-Ouest wine region. The property lies at the lieu-dit Les Frétillères, with soils composed of clay and limestone, ideal for producing the prestigious Saussignac sweet wines. In 2021, Sylvain Rigal took over from his father after professional experience in Ireland, bringing new energy to the family estate. The domaine is managed as a Société Civile d'Exploitation Agricole (SCEA) created in 2018, ensuring a modern and sustainable approach to viticulture.
“A family estate since 1980 between Bergerac and Bordeaux, specializing in Saussignac sweet wines on clay-limestone terroir.”
