About the Winery

Domaine Castan is a family-owned organic winery in Cazouls-lès-Béziers, in the heart of the Hérault department of Languedoc. The estate has been practicing sustainable viticulture since 1993 and is certified organic since 2020, also employing regenerative practices to preserve soils and biodiversity. The vineyard extends over 35 hectares of vines and 80 ares of olive trees, with 14 grape varieties across 4 terroirs and 5 appellations. The family represents the fourth generation of winemakers, with Monique, Guilhem, Valérie, and André Castan continuing the tradition. The estate is known for its unique Musée des Émile Vignerons, a museum dedicated to the history of wine and viticulture in the region, featuring collections of ancient tools and a reconstructed winemaker's kitchen and bedroom from the 19th century. The domaine produces AOC Languedoc, Saint-Chinian, and IGP wines including red, white, Rose, sparkling, and Cartagène (a sweet fortified wine).
