About the Winery

Jean-Pierre Cartier operates Domaine Les Goubert, a 23-hectare estate in Gigondas. Particularly fragmented, his vineyard ranges between 150 and 400 meters elevation, across forty parcels on terraces and hillsides with varied soils and exposures. The Goubert name is one of the oldest family names in the Gigondas appellation, with the oldest buildings mentioned in 1636. Jean-Pierre introduced new 228-liter barriques for aging in the 1980s, influenced by his love of Burgundy wines. His daughter Florence, a graduate of the Suze la Russe wine school, now assists him. The estate produces Gigondas, Sablet, and white wines including Viognier.
