Domaine Hirtz
13, rue Rotland, 67140 Mittelbergheim, France
About the Winery
Established in one of the most picturesque villages of the Bas-Rhin, near Barr, Edy and Élisabeth Hirtz, joined by two of their sons Michel and Stéphane, have managed the family estate since 1992, dedicating it exclusively to viticulture since 2002. They cultivate 13 hectares, with parcels in the local Grand Cru. The estate uses stainless steel tanks rather than wooden foudres to better preserve the aromatic potential of the grape varieties. The estate is certified HVE (High Environmental Value). The domaine produces classic Alsace wines including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Sylvaner.
“A family estate in Mittelbergheim since 1992, cultivating 13 hectares with Grand Cru parcels, using stainless steel to preserve aromatic purity.”
