About the Winery

Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot is an eighth-generation family winery in the Premier Cru village of Vrigny on the rolling slopes of the Montagne de Reims, about 15 minutes west of Reims. The family acquired their first parcels in 1799. In 1990, Dominique Lelarge and his wife Dominique Pugeot launched their own champagne brand. Their 8.7-hectare vineyard is composed of 42 distinct parcels planted primarily with Pinot Meunier (the specialty of Vrigny), along with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The domaine has been certified organic since 2014 and Demeter-certified biodynamic since 2017. The family's vineyards face northward, offering protection from global warming effects. Their wines are crafted in a minimalist fashion with indigenous yeast fermentations and increasing use of old wood, producing bright, fresh Champagnes with developed tertiary toasty nuances.
