Sarl Montirius
About the Winery
In the same family for five generations, this 63-hectare domaine is run by Christine and Éric Saurel, joined by their daughters Justine and Manon. The estate has been biodynamic since 1996 (certified since 1999). Vacqueyras and Gigondas wines are vinified and aged without wood, regularly in the spotlight. The estate produces wines from Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Côtes du Rhône and Vaucluse IGP appellations. The name Montirius comes from the domaine's location on the border of the Vacqueyras and Gigondas appellations. The estate's commitment to biodynamics dates back to the 1990s, making it one of the pioneers in the southern Rhône. The wines are known for their purity, expression of terroir, and remarkable value.
“A five-generation, 63-hectare biodynamic estate since 1996, producing acclaimed Vacqueyras and Gigondas wines without oak aging.”
