Sas Ferraton Père et Fils
About the Winery
Founded in 1946 by Jean Orëns Ferraton, this négociant company in Tain-l'Hermitage also owns vineyards. The Ferraton family had long been connected to the Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint Joseph vineyards, and the winery owns 18 hectares. At the end of the 1960s, Jean-Orens' son Michel took the winery to the next level by investing in Hermitage vineyards. In the 1990s a new step was taken with the creation of 'Ferraton Père et Fils', marking the partnership with Michel Chapoutier. The estate has been pursuing fully biodynamic farming for over 20 years with several formal certifications. Damien Brisset is the current winemaker. The domaine produces wines from Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and other northern and southern Rhône appellations, including single vineyard Sélections Parcellaires.
“A Rhône Valley estate since 1946, now in partnership with Michel Chapoutier, practicing biodynamic viticulture across 18 hectares including Hermitage.”
