Château de la Noblesse
About the Winery
This domaine, founded in the 1930s and remained in the family ever since, extends its vines over 10 hectares in a single block. At the helm is Henri Gaussen, assisted since 1990 by his daughter Agnès Gaussen-Cade, an oenologist. Located in La Cadière-d'Azur in the Bandol appellation, the estate produces red, white and Rose wines from the Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault and other traditional Provence grape varieties. Red wines improve with time, developing aromas of licorice, morello cherry, blackcurrant, and after 10 years, leather, undergrowth, truffle and venison. The estate offers cellar visits and tastings by appointment in a 4th-century vaulted cellar.
“A family Bandol estate since the 1930s with 10 hectares in a single block, now run by an oenologist daughter in a historic vaulted cellar.”
