Domaine Bernhard et Reibel
About the Winery
A 21-hectare domaine in Châtenois, a fortified village near Sélestat and the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle. Created in 1981 by Cécile Reibel and Robert Bernhard, from a long line of winemakers, it experienced significant growth with Cécile at the cellar. Since 2001 it has been run by their son Pierre, who has oriented the estate towards organic farming (certified in 2007). He has built a modern winery on the outskirts of the city while preserving oak foudres. The estate produces dry and elegant wines from diverse terroirs including granite hillsides. The Bischofsweingarten cuvée comes from the historic 'Weingarten' plot that was once the property of the bishops of Strasbourg.
“A 21-hectare organic estate since 2007 near the Haut-Koenigsbourg, with modern facilities and historic terroirs including the bishops' vineyard.”
