Domaine de la Vieille Forge
About the Winery
With his oenology diploma, Denis Wurtz has been reviving his grandparents' domaine since 1998. The name evokes the trade of one of his ancestors (the forge). Installed in a 16th-century half-timbered house, he exploits 11 hectares of vines spread over six communes, from Beblenheim to Riquewihr, with a third of the surface in two Grand Crus (Spreng and Schoenenbourg). The estate produces white and red wines, Crémant d'Alsace, Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles. The domaine also offers a cozy holiday cottage (gîte) within the wine estate, ideally located in the heart of Beblenheim near the vineyards, serving as a starting point for exploring the most beautiful villages of Alsace.
