About the Winery
Bakers from father to son, the Haegi became winemakers in 1949 after Charles married the daughter of a village winegrower. Since 1985, Daniel has been running the 10-hectare estate in organic agriculture in Mittelbergheim and the neighboring village of Eichhoffen. He cultivates three grape varieties on the Zotzenberg, the local Grand Cru. The estate produces Alsace wines including Grand Cru Zotzenberg, along with Crémant d'Alsace. The transition from baking to winemaking reflects the deep agricultural roots of the family, who have brought the same dedication to crafting wines that express the unique terroir of the Zotzenberg Grand Cru.
“From bakers to winemakers since 1949, now cultivating 10 hectares organically with three grape varieties on the Grand Cru Zotzenberg.”
