Domaine Scheidecker et Fils
About the Winery
Domaine Scheidecker et Fils was established in 1990 when two winegrowing families - the Zimmerlins and the Scheideckers - were joined by the marriage of their respective children, Sonia and Philippe. Since 2014, their son Laurent has been managing the domaine. Located in Mittelwihr, northwest of Colmar in the center of the Alsace wine growing region, the domaine has been certified HVE (High Environmental Value) since 2019. They own about 10 hectares of land spread over five communes, producing a multitude of varieties including red, white, Crémant d'Alsace and Eaux de Vie. The domaine has three lines of still wines: Traditions (entry level), Selection (from Lieu Dit vineyards or old vines), and Grand Cru vineyards (Mandelberg, Froehn, Marckrain and Sporen). Since 2014 they no longer sulfite their juices, allowing the full microbiological flora to be present, resulting in more gentle fermentation and finer wines.
“An HVE-certified estate born from two winemaking families, with vineyards in four Grand Crus and a no-sulfite approach since 2014.”
