La maison du Vigneron
About the Winery
La Maison du Vigneron is a prized haven of traditional skills and unbeatable winemaking knowledge in the Jura region, laying out a full selection of wines and crémants. Founded in 1986 in Crançot, La Compagnie des Grands Vins du Jura was bought five years later by Les Grands Chais de France. The company owns three domains: Domaine de Savagny (AOP Côtes du Jura, AOP Macvin du Jura), Domaine Quillot (AOP Côtes du Jura), and Domaine Durand Perron (AOP Château Chalon). The Maison du Vigneron is the principal producer of the Jurassian winegrowing region and the first producer of Crémants du Jura. With 5 grape varieties and 6 AOPs, diversity characterizes the Jura vineyards. The range includes Vin Jaune (slowly aged in casks for 6 years and 3 months), Vin de Paille (straw wine), Macvin (grape brandy matured in oak), and Crémant du Jura. The wines are sold under the Marcel Cabelier brand, also owned by Grands Chais de France.
“The principal producer of the Jurassian winegrowing region, crafting the full spectrum of Jura wines including Vin Jaune, Vin de Paille and Crémant du Jura.”
