Champagne j. Charpentier
About the Winery
Champagne J. Charpentier is a family-owned Champagne house now in its fifth generation, located in Villers-sous-Châtillon in the Marne Valley. The estate is certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and practices sustainable viticulture with permanent grass cover and minimal intervention. They vinify in stainless steel tanks, foudres, and barrels, practicing parcel-by-parcel vinification with moderate sulfiting and restrained dosage. Their Champagnes are guided by two key principles: roundness and freshness. Visitors can tour the cellars with their oak tuns, the disgorging room, traditional and modern presses, and the fermenting room, followed by a tasting in a charming museum setting.
