Domaine Castagnier
About the Winery
Domaine Castagnier is a prestigious Burgundy estate in Morey-Saint-Denis, run by Jérôme and Jocelyne Castagnier. The domaine spans approximately 4 hectares, with half planted to Grand Cru vineyards including Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint Denis, Charmes-Chambertin, and Clos de Vougeot. Jérôme Castagnier, a former professional trumpet player who performed for heads of state, took over the family domaine in 2004 as the fifth generation. The estate employs organic and biodynamic practices, with hand harvesting and aging in French oak barrels for 18 months. The wines are known for their vibrant fruit, concentration, and ability to age gracefully. The domaine also produces village wines from Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Morey-Saint-Denis.
