About the Winery
The Lorgeril family owns six family estates in Languedoc-Roussillon, including Château de Pennautier, a 'Versailles in Languedoc' built in 1620. Nicolas and Miren de Lorgeril, representing the tenth generation, manage this vast ensemble of 180 hectares. The estate produces wines in the Cabardès AOP, one of the oldest appellations in Languedoc, blending Atlantic (Malbec, Cabernet, Merlot) and Mediterranean (Grenache, Syrah) grape varieties on unique limestone and clay terroir. The château is classified as a Historic Monument and offers guided tours and tastings.
“A 'Versailles in Languedoc' built in 1620, the flagship of the Lorgeril family's six estates, producing Cabardès wines from 180 hectares.”
