About the Winery
Château Tour Fonrazade is a small family property of 5 hectares in a single parcel located west of the Saint-Émilion appellation, on clay-siliceous soils with clay presence. The estate produces Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines primarily from Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), with vines averaging 35 years of age. The change in direction about ten years ago has led to increased power and quality in the wines. Harvest is manual, with aging in a mix of new (30%) and used (70%) French oak barrels. The estate is certified HVE3 and produces approximately 60,000 bottles annually.
“A 5-hectare family estate in Saint-Émilion on clay-siliceous soils, certified HVE3, producing powerful Grand Cru wines.”
