Château Pécany

About the Winery

Château Pécany is a magnificent 18th-century architectural ensemble overlooking Pomport in the Dordogne Valley of South West France. Built by the de Courssou family in 1780, the château has a long history of wine production. In 2012, Benoît Beigner, an engineer-oenologist from an old family of local winegrowers, acquired the property from its last owner. The 20-hectare vineyard has been converted to organic farming and is undergoing restructuring. Benoît is a member of the Bee Friendly association, having installed hives and combined organic viticulture with beekeeping to reveal the flavors of the terroir. The estate produces wines in the Bergerac, Côtes de Bergerac, and Monbazillac appellations, as well as organic honey.
