About the Winery
Château Castel Viaud (Vignobles Courty) is a family estate in Lalande-de-Pomerol that Laurent Courty took over from his father Christian and grandfather Raymond in 2015. Established in the 1940s and expanded over two generations, the vineyard now covers nearly 16 hectares in Lalande-de-Pomerol. The vines are planted on sandy-gravelly soils with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet. The estate produces wines under the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation as well as a Vin de France from 3 hectares of Merlot at Lagorce. Laurent continues the family passion for viticulture while bringing his own vision to this well-regarded property.
“A family estate of nearly 16 hectares in Lalande-de-Pomerol, now in its third generation under Laurent Courty since 2015.”
