About the Winery

Denise and Stephen Adams are American wine enthusiasts who own wineries in California and invested in Bordeaux's Libournais region. After acquiring Château Fonplégade, a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion in 2004, they purchased L'Enclos in Pomerol in 2007. L'Enclos comprises 9 hectares spread across thirty-eight parcels on the western slope of the Pomerol plateau, in the René sector. The sandy-gravelly soils are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a touch of Malbec. The couple brings a California winemaking perspective combined with respect for Bordeaux tradition, producing wines of elegance and terroir expression.
