Sas pierre et bertrand Couly
About the Winery
Pierre and Bertrand Couly are heirs to a long line of winegrowers dating back to the 15th century through Bertrand's maternal branch (Farou). In 2007, they established their vineyard on the slopes and plateau of Chinon in the Loire Valley, and have since expanded to 21 hectares. In 2010, they built a modern, partly underground winery on the road to Tours, covered with vines to maintain constant temperature. The estate is certified HVE (High Environmental Value) and practices sustainable viticulture, agroecology, and biodiversity conservation. They grow Cabernet Franc for reds and Roses, and Chenin Blanc for white Chinon wines. Vincent Couly, son of Bertrand, has managed vinifications since 2018. The domaine offers diverse wine tourism activities including an escape game, educational trails, and rides through the vineyard.
“Heirs to a 15th-century winemaking tradition in Chinon, producing HVE-certified wines from 21 hectares with innovative wine tourism experiences.”
