Domaine Monastrel
About the Winery
Domaine Monastrel is a family-owned organic winery in the Minervois appellation of the Languedoc region. The estate's origins date back to the 1920s, and it has been producing a renowned Minervois since the 1970s. Taken over in 2001 by Vincent ENAUD and his wife Brigitte, the vineyard was restructured and extended into the Mediterranean scrublands, now covering 8.5 hectares. In 2007, a new modern wine cellar was built. The estate is named after the Mourvèdre grape (Monastrell in Spanish), which is the emblematic variety of the domain. Certified organic since 2022 after three years of conversion, the estate is now managed by Isabelle and Patrice Hermy. The wines are known for their concentration, balance, and expression of the Minervois terroir.
“Organic family estate in Minervois since the 1920s, named after the emblematic Mourvèdre grape.”
