About the Winery

Maison Brédif was founded in 1893 by Ernest Brédif in Rochecorbon, in the heart of the Vouvray appellation of the Loire Valley. In 1980, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the estate and has continued to perpetuate and improve the style and typicity of the wines. Recognized for its Vouvray wines and particularly its sweet wines, Monsieur Brédif was a pioneer in creating Vouvray sparkling wine at the beginning of the 20th century. The estate's troglodyte cellars, carved into tuffeau limestone from the 8th century, are among the largest and most beautiful of the appellation, housing rare wines with vintages dating back to 1874. The estate produces three types of Vouvray wines: Classic Vouvray, Nectar Marc Brédif (late harvest in exceptional vintages), and Vigne Blanche (from the estate's exclusive monopoly parcel). Maison Brédif also produces red and Rose wines from Chinon, Bourgueil, Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, and Saumur Champigny.
