Bouvet Ladubay is the second oldest sparkling wine-producing house in Saumur, founded in 1851 by Etienne Bouvet and his wife Célestine Ladubay. Endorsed by Napoleon III and chosen as official supplier to the House of Lords, the house specializes in bringing out the floral notes of Chenin Blanc in their lively, zesty Crémant de Loire. The Brut de Loire is their signature style, with the Saumur Brut being the go-to appellation for premium sparkling wine at an accessible price. The house practices méthode traditionnelle, with Chenin Blanc as the primary grape variety. Bouvet Ladubay is deeply engaged in culture and wine tourism, offering visits of their spectacular cellars and tastings year-round. The house also features a contemporary art center and 19th-century theater. The company exports 65% of its production to nearly 45 countries.
