Ferraton Père & Fils

Tain-l'Hermitage, 26600, France

About the Winery

Ferraton Père & Fils is a top producer of wines from France's Rhône Valley, with a history dating back to 1946 when Jean-Orens Ferraton decided to share his passion for the terroirs of Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Saint-Joseph. The Ferraton family had long been connected to these vineyards, and the winery owns 18 hectares on mostly terraces and steep slopes with schist, granite, and sedimentary soils. At the end of the 1960s, Jean-Orens' son Michel took the winery to the next level by investing in Hermitage vineyards. In the 1990s, a new step was taken with the creation of 'Ferraton Père & Fils,' marking the partnership between the Ferraton family and Michel Chapoutier. Today, Damien Brisset serves as winemaker, continuing the domaine's philosophy of showcasing the true essence of each terroir. The estate has been pursuing fully biodynamic farming for over 20 years with several formal certifications. The annual production is approximately 40,000 cases, cultivating Syrah, Grenache, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier.

A Rhône Valley estate since 1946, partnered with Michel Chapoutier, practicing biodynamic farming for over 20 years across Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage.
