Domaine du Mas Rouge
About the Winery
Domaine du Mas Rouge is a property acquired in 1997 by Julien Cheminal, who has tirelessly restored its 35-hectare vineyard and the imposing timber-framed winery building since 2002. The estate is located on the exceptional Aresquiers site in Vic-la-Gardiole, between the Mediterranean Sea and coastal lagoons. The property's red clay soil (which gave the domaine its name) combines with ancient alluvial limestone deposits. Protected from maritime winds by the Bois des Aresquiers and from the Mistral by the Gardiole hills, the vines enjoy optimal sunshine (300 days/year). The domaine specializes in Muscat wines (both dry and naturally sweet) and also produces reds, Roses, and sparkling wines. They are rated HVE and regularly receive 'Coup de Cœur' mentions in the Guide Hachette des Vins.
“A 35-hectare estate between the Mediterranean and lagoons, famous for Muscat wines and rated HVE.”
