About the Winery

Château Pape Clément is a Grand Cru Classé of Graves, one of the oldest Bordeaux Grands Crus with a vineyard established by Bertrand de Goth, who became Pope Clément V in 1305. The first harvest took place in 1252, laying the foundations for an outstanding cultural heritage. The estate is situated in the Pessac-Léognan appellation within the Graves viticultural area. In 1980, Bernard Magrez acquired the estate. The 60-hectare vineyard stretches over three plots surrounding the château, planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris, and Petit Verdot. The estate is certified HVE 3, the highest environmental distinction in France. The estate offers a full range of wine tourism services including boutique, accommodation, winery tours, educational workshops, wine pairing, and venue hire. Accessible by public transport from Bordeaux.
