Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Pierredon
About the Winery
Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Pierredon is a historic wine estate in the heart of the Alpilles mountains in Provence, dating back to the 13th century during the time of the Chalaisian monks. Surrounded by forest and garrigue, the estate spans 15 hectares of vines on clay-limestone soils, producing organic wines including white, red, and Rose, as well as olive oil from 10 hectares of olive trees. The property also produces honey. The vineyard is planted with traditional Provençal varieties: Rolle, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Marsanne, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon. The estate has been in the hands of the Pellicioli family since 2001, who have restored the chapel, house, and gardens to create a large family property spanning 650 hectares where three generations enjoy gathering. The estate practices organic farming and invites visitors to discover their wines, olive oils, and honeys by appointment.
“A 13th-century family estate with 15 hectares of organic vineyards in the Alpilles, producing wine and olive oil in a magical setting.”
