Château de La Rivière is a historic wine estate in the Fronsac appellation of Bordeaux, built in 1577 on the remains of a fortified encampment raised by Charlemagne and restored in the 19th century under renowned architects including Viollet Le Duc. The estate features 3 hectares of underground cellars that provide an ideal setting for maturing wines. Château de La Rivière is certified High Environmental Value (HVE), ISO 14001, and 'Bordeaux Let's Grow the Future CSR policy' for its strong environmental and social commitments. The estate is also a signatory of the Natura 2000 charter. The property offers luxury accommodation with five Gîtes de France Bacchus 4 épis B&B rooms, awarded the 'Best Of' award for wine tourism in 2007. The wines are produced with consulting winemaker Michel Rolland, with production averaging about 24,000 cases per year. The estate also features a second wine, Les Source Château de La Rivière.
