About the Winery

Château Canadel: A 15-hectare hillside paradise, the birthplace of Bandol wines, biodynamically cultivated since 2007. Château Canadel is one of the newest wineries in the Bandol appellation. The property consists of a small village of 5 historic bastides built between the 13th and 15th centuries around a chapel, clinging to the hillside. The estate takes its name from the water canals ('canal d'eau' to Canadeau to Canadel) that cross the property. The unique terroir features an unusual geological anomaly with Triassic layer (200 million years old) on top of Cretaceous layer, providing exceptional limestone and clay soils for Mourvèdre. The estate has been certified organic since its beginning.
