Couvent des Jacobins, Grand Cru Classé

10 Rue Guadet, 33330 Saint-Émilion, France

About the Winery

In the heart of Saint-Emilion, a dive into more than 600 years of history through multiple and varied experiences, between the vineyards, the quarries and the medieval village. Dominican monks, known as Jacobins, settled in Saint-Émilion in 1389 and built their monastery. In 1902, Jean Jean acquired the Couvent, which had been left unoccupied after the French Revolution. Xavier Jean, the 4th generation, now continues the family adventure with a special focus on organic farming. The estate was promoted to Grand Cru Classé in 1969 and maintains its rank through all classification revisions.
