About the Winery
The Cave des Hospices de Strasbourg offers tastings of Alsatian wines in a historic setting, with a selection from local winemakers. The historic wine cellar, built between 1393 and 1395, is a 1,200 square meter medieval cave within the Hôpital Civil de Strasbourg. It is inscribed as a historic monument since 1929. The cellar houses treasures including the world's oldest wine in a barrel, a vintage from 1472, and contains a museum with ancient viticultural tools including a wine press from 1727 and an immense barrel from 1881 with a capacity of 26,080 liters.

Wine tastings in a historic medieval cellar setting. Tours available Monday to Friday 8:30am-12pm/1:30pm-5:30pm, Saturday 9am-12:30pm.
