Weinviertel

Austria's largest wine region, famous for peppery Grüner Veltliner and rolling vineyard landscapes.

Overview

Weinviertel is the largest wine region in Austria, stretching from the Danube to the Czech border. Its gently rolling hills, warm days, and cool nights create ideal conditions for Grüner Veltliner, which accounts for the majority of plantings.

The region was the first in Austria to receive DAC status for Grüner Veltliner, establishing a benchmark for its signature peppery, fruity style. Beyond that, Weinviertel also produces elegant Riesling, Pinot Noir, and a growing range of sparkling wines.
