Overview
Segarcea spreads over the last hills before the Danube plain, where an ancient sea left a limestone pedestal capped by fertile chernozem. Vineyards enjoy more than 1,440 hours of sunshine from April to October.
The temperate continental climate, with a hint of Mediterranean warmth, favours both red and white varieties. The estate is known for Fetească Neagră, Fetească Albă, Tămâioasă Românească and international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon.
Key Varietals
- Fetească NeagrăA flagship native red producing concentrated black fruit and spice.
- Fetească AlbăAn ancient white that keeps floral perfume and fresh acidity in the Oltenian heat.
- Tămâioasă RomâneascăA fragrant white variety making aromatic, honey-toned wines.
- Cabernet SauvignonAn international red that adds cassis and structure to Segarcea blends.
