Salta Vineyards
Salta Province, Argentina

Salta

Extreme altitude vineyards in Argentina's far north, home to vibrant Torrontés and Malbec.

Overview

Salta is Argentina's northernmost wine region, where vineyards sit at some of the highest altitudes in the world. The Calchaquí Valley, including the famous sub-region of Cafayate, enjoys intense sunlight, dramatic temperature swings, and near-desert conditions that produce wines of exceptional concentration and freshness.

Torrontés is the white star of Salta, producing exotically aromatic wines with crisp acidity. Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon also thrive at these elevations, delivering wines of remarkable elegance and mineral tension that reflect the dramatic mountain landscape.
