Pemberton

A cool, forested WA region producing refined Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet.

Overview

Pemberton is a cool-climate wine region in the tall forests of Western Australia's southwest. The region's elevation, abundant rainfall, and proximity to the Southern Ocean create conditions similar to parts of Burgundy and New Zealand.

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the standout varieties, producing elegant, restrained wines with bright acidity. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot also perform well, making Pemberton a rising star among Australian cool-climate regions.

Key Varietals

  • Pinot NoirPemberton's flagship red, elegant with red cherry, spice, and silky tannins.
  • ChardonnayA refined, mineral white with citrus and white peach.
  • Cabernet SauvignonA structured red with cassis, mint, and fine-grained tannins.
  • MerlotA supple, plummy red that softens blends and stands alone.
