Overview
Ningxia is widely regarded as China's premier wine region, centered on the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains. The continental climate brings cold winters, hot summers, and intense sunshine, while vineyards at around 1,200 meters above sea level benefit from cool nights and long growing seasons.
The region is home to more than two hundred wineries, including Silver Heights, Kanaan Winery, Xige Estate, and Helan Qingxue. Cabernet Sauvignon and Marselan dominate plantings, producing structured, ripe reds that have won major international awards and put Chinese wine on the global map.
