Overview

Zeeland is the Netherlands' most coastal wine region, spread across a patchwork of islands and peninsulas reclaimed from the North Sea. The province's wine reputation was built by pioneers such as De Kleine Schorre near Dreischor, whose wines have reached KLM business class and show what Zeeuwse terroir can deliver.

The growing season is moderated by the surrounding water, and the soils are rich in marine clay and fossil shell deposits. The result is crisp, aromatic whites and delicate sparkling wines with a subtle saline freshness that pairs naturally with the region's oysters, mussels, and seafood.
