Møn

Overview

Møn is a small island southeast of Zealand, famous for the white chalk cliffs of Møns Klint. Its southwestern coast, in particular, offers south-facing slopes and a maritime microclimate that growers compare to parts of Champagne and Burgundy. The island's limestone-rich soils have attracted ambitious producers aiming to make serious sparkling and still wines.

Kalum Winery has led the charge on Møn, replanting hybrids with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier in pursuit of terroir-driven wines. The results are still evolving, but Møn represents the most terroir-focused and experimental edge of Danish viticulture.
