Overview
Miniș is one of the best-known wine centres of the Banat Hills, set on south-facing slopes that catch abundant sun. The region shares the Banat's moderate continental climate, softened by sub-Mediterranean air from the southwest.
Terra rossa and brown soils over limestone underpin both native and international varieties. Producers focus on Fetească Regală, Burgund Mare, Cadarcă and Sauvignon Blanc, alongside Merlot and Pinot Noir.
Key Varietals
- Fetească RegalăA fresh, aromatic white that shows green apple and blossom in Banat's mild climate.
- Burgund MareA local Pinot-related red producing light, silky red-berry wines.
- CadarcăAn old Banat red variety giving pale, fresh, slightly spicy wines.
- Sauvignon BlancA crisp international white with grassy, citrus and elderflower notes.
