Overview

Mallorca has a long wine tradition dating back to Roman times, with two principal DOs: Binissalem in the central plain and Pla i Llevant in the east. The island's varied topography creates many microclimates, from the mountainous Serra de Tramuntana to warm coastal plains. Limestone, clay, and sandy soils predominate, often refreshed by sea breezes.

Manto Negro and Callet are the signature red grapes, producing light- to medium-bodied, earthy reds, while Prensal Blanc makes fresh, floral whites. International varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay are widely blended. Mallorcan wines capture the warmth, herbs, and relaxed character of Mediterranean island life.
