Batroun

Overview

The Batroun district sits 55 kilometers north of Beirut along a dramatic coastline backed by steep mountain slopes. Vineyards range from around 400 to 1,500 meters elevation on narrow terraces carved into the hills, producing concentrated fruit from vines stressed by rocky, well-drained soils.

Batroun accounts for roughly 6% of Lebanon's wine production and hosts respected estates such as IXSIR, Batroun Mountains Winery, and Aurora. The region is known for intense, mineral reds and crisp whites, with many producers embracing organic farming and sustainable practices.
